The Stable Tour

Alexander Taipan  -  2000 b g Taipan-Fayafi
Another horse bred to be a jumper as he is from the family of Anzum. Having won his maiden hurdle well at Punchestown we were hopeful for him, but his last two runs were very disappointing. The vet has looked at him and found a problem with his hind leg. He will go chasing next season and is an exciting prospect.

Adamant Approach  -  1994 b g Mandalus-Crash Approach
A fantastic horse who has been running consistently well for the last two seasons. In his last twenty races he has been in the money fourteen times, winning three and being placed at Cheltenham,Punchestown and Fairyhouse. His enthuaism for the game is amazing and as long as he continues to enjoy it we will campaign him over fences and hurdles and try to pick up a few more nice prizes.

Arctic Spectacle  -  2001 b g Shernazar-Eskimo Kiss
Slightly unlucky not to have won his maiden by now but he has ran very well in defeat. He should have no problem opening his account on quick ground. A chaser in the making.

Ballygoe  -  1999 b g Flemensfirth-Handy Lady
Won two point-to-points and placed in his only bumper. Injured himself on hs first chase start. Will probably come back novice chasing. A big horse, 17 hands, and I’m hoping that he will win over fences this season.

Ballytrim  -  2001 b g Luso-Helysar
I had hoped he might win on his debut at Thurles this month, but I was surprised how easily he won (25 lengths). He certainly hadn't shown us he was that talented at home beforehand. He ran badly n Puchestown but he scoped a bit wrong afterwards so you can ignore that run. He has the pedigree to be very good and one day could make into a very classy chaser. Actually he is a very big horse and you would think he'd appreciate softish ground, but a lot of his family ran well on good ground.

Black Harry  -  2000 b g Flemensfirth-Raise An Ace
Another from a lovely family being related to Dramatist. He made a winning debut at Leopardstown over Christmas, but unfortunately pulled some muscles after that. We decided then not to go to Cheltenham with him. He would not want fast ground. He will go hurdling this year and then make into a fine chaser one day I hope.

Bothar Na  -  1999 ch g Mister Lord-Country Course
He is a rarity in that he won two races on one day. Although that is true one of them was on appeal! He is a fine big fellow who was placed in the Foxhunters in Cheltenham and Aintree. Did very well to win the Denny at Tralee and then the Kerry National at Listowel. We will try to win another valuable handicap with him. His main aim is the Grand National.

Cest Ca  -  2004 bay colt Groom Dancer - Known Class

Clearing the Water  -  2002 bay colt Sadlers Wells - Leave Me Alone

Cru  -  2004 bay filly Desert Style - Crohal Di San Jore

Dani California  - 2004 brown filly Beat All - Auntie Bob

Davenport Democrat  -  1999 ch g Fourstars Allstar-Storm Court
Has done very well over the summer, winning several novice hurdles and then winning a valuable handicap chase in Listowel. He is seen to best effect on fast ground. We will continue to campaign him over both codes.

Dooneys Gate  -  1999 b g Oscar-Park Breeze
A lovely big horse who has a future in chasing. He won his bumper nicely and should have no problem in winning again this season.

Diego Garcia  -  2000 b g Sri Pekan-Chapel Lawn
He's a nice type of horse who came to life with a bang on the quck summer ground.Won a QR flat race in Limerick, after being placed in a simiar event in Leopardstown. He then won a flat handicap and a feature handicap hurdle in Galway before winning the Denny Havasnack impressively. He will be let out now before possibly going novice chasing next season.

Equus Maximus  -  2000 b g Flemingsfirth-Sambara
I really like this fellow and he will make a cracking chaser one day. I actually trained his dam Sambara who won four or five races for us. He made his debut in a Leopardstown bumper at the end of last month and we thought he would take some beating. He won by three lengths and did everything right. I think he is a top notch horse and he will be going over to Cheltenham for the bumper.

Euro Leader  -  1998 b g Supreme Leader-Noreaster
He did us proud last year rattling up four victories including the Denny Gold Medal and the Kerry National. He is a good ground horse and has several options at Cheltenham including the Ryanair Chase, and handicaps from two miles to two and a half. He is also in the Grand National where he has been allotted 10st 10lb, but I feel the Topham would be a better race for him at the moment. I think three miles is as far as he goes.

Financial Reward  -  2003 brown colt Fruits of Love - Lamp of Phoebus

Good Repute  -  2003 brown colt Benny the Dip - Reddening

Hedgehunter  -  1996 b g Montelimar-Aberedw
Winning the Grand National with him was something you never dream will ever happen to you and it was very special. I know he was the first for a while to carry over 11st to win the race (11st 1lb), but as the bottom weight had 10st 5lb, it wasn't as big a deal as it has been in recent years. He did us proud again last year , coming second in the Irish Hennessy Gold Cup,the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup and the John Smiths Aintree Grand National. The ground had probaly gone a little bit soft for him in the Grand National. He will probably follow the same route as last year.

Homer Wells  -  1998 b g Arctic Cider-Run And Shine
He is an out and out soft ground horse and all five of his wins have been soft or had the word heavy in the going description. He has oly been out of the first four twice in nineteen races and I would love to go to Cheltenham with him, but the ground is almost certainly going to be too lively for him there. He will be aimed at some of the good handicap chases on soft ground. The Pierse Leopardstown Chase and the Welsh National are possibilties.

Imperial Hills  -  2004 bay colt Imperial Ballet - Six Hills

Irish Invader  -  2001 br g Bob Back-Idealist
From a fine family he is a half-brother to General Idea. He had been working well prior to his debut at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day, where he had Galway Hurdle winner Cuan na Grai back in third, and I was pleased to see him win. He has a lot of improving to do, but I can assure you he will have improved a lot the next time you see him. He will go novice hurdling this season and it would be nice to see him fulfil his potential. He is a fine stamp of a horse who will make a lovely chaser.

Josephine Cullen  -  2002 ch f Daggers Drawn-Moycullen
She was impressive when winning at Punchestown. She could improve again and we will try to pick up some black type with her.

Livingstonebramble  -  1996 b g Supreme Leader-Killiney Side
He ran well in the Thyestes Chase as he made a bad mistake at a crucial time and it cost him any chance he had. He only had one behind him at the time and that was Dun Doire who went on to win the race. It was his first run back for nine months and I was very pleased with the effort. He had a wind operation while he was off and if that operation has brought about any improvement in him, and he stays sound, then he could be well handicapped. A capable horse.

Man on the Nile  -  2000 bay gelding Snurge - Spirit of the Nile
A incredibly versatile horse regarding trip and ground. He had a injury which kept him off the track for a year but is now making up for lost time. He won the September Handicap and was unlucky in the Ceasarewitch. He'll go hurdling for the winter and if he keeps improving he could be quite a smart hurdler.

Magnum Force  -  2004 bay colt Redback - Dalal

Mister Hight  -  2002 bl g Take Risks-Miss High
He was a decent horse on the Flat finishing placed in Group 3 company. I started him off at Punchestown and won by 20 lengths. That taught him a lot and he went for the Grade 2 Cashmans Juvenile Hurdle and again won very nicely, this time from Breathing Fire. H was very disapointing at Cheltenham, making a mistake at the first and then jumping poorly throughout before hanging quite bady as well. He was runnng a nice race in Punchestown before falling at the last but the ground was probaly gone for him then. He loves the mud and wll run in the top flight hurdle races this year.

Mountain Snow  -  2000 ch g Barathea-Mountains Of Mist
He has run three cracking races at Galway and we will be sending him back there for the Festival in years to come. His jumping can be erratic at times but when he gets it all right on the day , he will come in at a big price.

Mosawat  -  2002 bay filly Machevellian - Ta Awun
A flat bred filly who shows us plenty of speed at home. She disapointed in her only bumper run but she didn't like the ground and may not have stayed. We ran her on the flat but again the ground was probaly against her and she also missed the break. She wants fast ground and has plenty of toe.

Mullach Na Si  -  2004 bay colt Poliglote - Fatale
A nice horse who will be more of a 3-y-yo than a 2-y-o. Is improving with every run. Wants good ground and a bit if a trip.

Of Course  -  1998 ch g Montelimar-Linda's Course
I like him and he is on a break at the moment. He was a little disapointing over hurdles although he did win his maiden. In his first bumper he was only a head behind Conna Castle and two lengths ahead of Celestial Wave, and if he can recapture that when he goes chasing he should win several races. Is a horse I have a lot of time for.

Orge D'Ete  -  2002 grey gelding April Night - Fee Mousse
A french import who was placed in two bumpers in france. He was very green in his first two runs and I think he will improve after his break (May -July). He is only four and will keep improving. A trip and some soft ground will help his cause.

Our Ben  -  1999 ch g Presenting-Forest Pride
Came up against Nickname on his chasing debut, which was a little unfortunate but still finished a good second. He then went to Fairyhouse and won nicely before stepping up to two miles five furlongs for the Dr P J Moriarty Chase where he ran a cracking race to be third. He also ran well at Punchestown and it was a pity he unseated at Cheltenham as I think he would have gone close. Three miles will probaly be his game and he is one to look forward to this year.

Polar Call  -  1999 b g Shernazar-Acres Lady
From family of Polar Nomad and Arctic Call. Had some placed runs in bumpers before beating Maxi, who has won two since, in a Limerick bumper. He was coming with a strong run when slippng up after the last in Bellewstown and he should win is maiden hudle before too long. He wants a trip and good ground.

Quatre Heures  -  2002 b g Vertical Speed-Macyrienne
Another lovely young hurdler who has done all I have asked of him winning three from three in Ireland before two disapointing runsin France. He is another wth an exciting future.

Royal Heritage  -  1997 b g Carroll House-Call Me Anna
A fine big chasing type from the family of Alexander Banquet and Wither Or Which, he won his bumper on soft ground. He had a wind operation and then ran moderatley in winners bumper before showing some of his real ability when coming late and fast to be second over hurdles to Amalfitano . He seems to relish the softer ground and could be a force to be reckoned with over chases.

Scotsirish  -  2001 b g Zaffaran-Serjitak
A point-to-point winner, he is a horse I hope will do well under Rules. He made his debut at Gowran and to be honest I thought he would win, but he was a little disappointing in finishing fourth. We think he may just want better ground like a lot of Zaffarans. I hope he might be a Cheltenham type. I wouldn't write him off after that, as he is a nice prospect.

Sonnium  -  2004 chesnut colt Lomitas - Cutting Glance

Sunami Storm  -  6 b m Glacial Storm-Live It Up
A lovely mare who has won some decent races. She has plenty of ability and should continue to win races over both codes.

Supreme Pearl  -  6 b g Supreme Leader-Vi's Delight
He hasn't lived up to expectatins and as suffered a slight injury. He will come back later in the season and may go hunter chasing. Needs a trip.

Tango Foxtrot  -  3 b or br g Foxhound-Tango Two Thousand
He took a while to hit the target but he won three races this summer , including a useful handicap in the Curragh. He doesn't seem to be in love with hurdles and will remain on the flat for the most part. We will experiment by dropping him in trip as we think he may find even more improvement then. He runs his best every time and is best on a fast surface.

Tax Exemption  -  4 b f Bob Back-Tourist Attraction
This mare is one that I am very keen to win with as her dam, Tourist Attraction, was my first winner as a trainer at the Cheltenham Festival when she took the Supreme Novices' Hurdle. Tax Exemption is herself a compact filly who has shown me enough to suggest we can win a bumper with her.

Templers Hall  -  1999 bay gelding Majed - Connaught Hall
A half brother to Connaught Hall. He will improve as the ground gets softer and should win a race before too long. Could pop up at a big price.

Temlett  -  2004 brown colt Desert Prince - Bering Brown
Lovely horse who had sore shins after his first run , where he finished a staying on fifth beaten three lengths by Holy Roman Emperor. He is better now and with the softer ground he'll get off the mark soon enough. Was unlucky not to have gone closer at Listowel and ran very well in Gowran.

Warrens Castle  -  8 b g Fourstars Allstar-Jerusalem Cruiser
Has been a credit to himself this year. Was unlucky to have only won one race and was second three times. He was only out of the first two twice and both times the ground was too soft for him. He has a great turn of foot but needs ground like the M50 to be at his best. If we an find good ground soon , he might run again this year but otherwise he will be put out for the winter. He will have no problem winning more races on the flat, over hurdles or over chases.
